Day 1 (Sunday): Arrive Jorhat & Board MV Mahabaahu

Upon arrival at Jorhat Airport, you are warmly received by the cruise representatives and driven to Neamati Ghat to board the luxurious MV Mahabaahu.

After completing the safety briefing, settle into your cabin and enjoy the ship’s first gentle sail, scanning the waters for the elusive Gangetic Dolphins.

In the evening, attend a presentation on Sivasagar and the Ahom Civilization, an introduction to Assam’s regal past.

Day 2 (Monday): Neamati Ghat / Sivasagar Excursion / Tea Estate Home-Hosted Lunch

After an early breakfast, depart for an excursion to the historic town of Sivasagar, once the capital of the Ahom Kings. Explore its remarkable temples, tanks, and monuments that reflect the glorious Assamese heritage.

Later, proceed to a tea estate, where a planter’s family hosts you for an authentic Assamese lunch and a glimpse into the traditions of tea cultivation.

Return to the ship by sunset and unwind over an easy evening on board.

Day 3 (Tuesday): Majuli Island & Mishing Village Visit

After morning Yoga and breakfast, the ship sails toward the enchanting Majuli Island, the world’s largest inhabited river island and the spiritual heart of neo-Vaishnavite culture.

Disembark on tenders and drive to a serene Satra (monastic complex) to witness devotional music and dance by the Vaishnavite priests. Visit Kamalabari Satra to experience rhythmic performances of drums, cymbals, and chanting.

Return to the ship for lunch and cruise onward to a traditional Mishing Village, where homes are built on bamboo stilts and women weave brilliantly coloured textiles.
As we sail toward Dhansiri Mukh, the confluence of the Brahmaputra and Dhansiri rivers, enjoy a talk on “Assam — Its Geography and Significance.”

Conclude the day with an evening under the stars on a deserted island.

Day 4 (Wednesday): Sail to Eastern Range of Kaziranga / Boat Safari

Begin the morning with Yoga or a nature walk on a secluded island before breakfast. As we sail towards the Eastern Range of Kaziranga National Park, attend a talk on “The River Brahmaputra and the Life Along Its Banks.”

Embark on a boat safari aboard tenders to explore this remarkable stretch of riverine habitat, teeming with wildlife and birds.

In the evening, join the Chef’s live cooking demonstration followed by a discussion on “Majuli – Cultural Heritage of Assam.”

Conclude the day around a bonfire on a deserted island – a magical experience under the night sky.

Day 5 (Thursday): Weavers’ Village at Bishwanath Ghat / Western Range of Kaziranga Safari

Start the day with Yoga or a morning walk, followed by breakfast and a talk on “Kaziranga and the Wildlife of India.”

Travel by tender to the Bishwanath Ghat Weavers’ Village, where you can observe the rhythm of local life – women weaving colourful patterns, fishermen at work, and a community rooted in craft and tradition.

Return for lunch as we sail toward Silghat, then drive to the Western Range of Kaziranga National Park for an exciting jeep safari through a region rich with one-horned rhinoceroses, wild buffaloes, elephants, deer, and vibrant birdlife.

Back on board, enjoy a cultural dance performance to celebrate Assamese spirit.

Day 6 (Friday): Kaziranga National Park / Sail Downstream

Set out early for a once-in-a-lifetime elephant safari inside Kaziranga National Park, followed by breakfast at a jungle resort. Continue your adventure with a jeep safari covering additional areas of the park to spot more wildlife in its natural habitat.

Return to MV Mahabaahu by midday. After a leisurely afternoon, join an evening talk on “Kamakhya Temple, the Occult, and Peacock Island.”

Later, enjoy a traditional Assamese theme dinner featuring regional dishes and music.

Day 7 (Saturday): Village Visit / Full-Day Sail / Peacock Island

Begin the morning with Yoga on deck or on shore, followed by breakfast. The ship sails towards a river island inhabited primarily by a Bangla-speaking Muslim farming community. Observe their unique way of life before returning to the ship for lunch.

In the afternoon, continue sailing to the iconic Peacock Island, home to the Umananda Temple and several golden langurs.

By evening, MV Mahabaahu anchors at Pandu Port (Guwahati).
